How to Install the Mush3D Maya Module on Windows or Linux

1. Copy Files
Copy the following items into your Maya modules folder:

mush3d.mod
mush3d folder

Use the Maya version and operating system matching the package you downloaded.
For Maya 2027, the typical paths are:
Windows: C:\Users\<YourUsername>\Documents\maya\2027\modules
Linux:   ~/maya/2027/modules
If the modules folder does not exist, create it manually.

2. Module Location
The supplied mush3d.mod uses ./mush3d, so no edit is needed when mush3d.mod
and the mush3d folder are kept together. To keep the module elsewhere, replace
./mush3d with its full path. For example:

+ mush3d 1.0 C:\Users\<YourUsername>\Documents\maya\2027\modules\mush3d
MAYA_PLUG_IN_PATH *:= plug-ins
MAYA_SCRIPT_PATH *:= scripts
XBMLANGPATH +:= icons

3. Restart Maya
Close and reopen Maya to apply the changes.

4. Launch Mush3D
In Maya's MEL command line, type:

mush3d;

This will open the Mush3D interface. From there, you can access the full documentation.

Installing Directly From This Project
On Windows, after building, run install-module.ps1 from the repository root. It installs
the compiled plugin into Module/mush3d/plug-ins and writes a version-specific
mush3d.mod in your Maya user modules folder pointing to Module/mush3d.
Scripts, icons, shelves, presets, and documentation remain in the project.
Run the installer again after rebuilding to update the project plugin.
